No heat coming from heater core

Asked by Dan Nov 16, 2014 at 09:36 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Grand Prix GTP doesn't seem to want to heat up. There is no heat coming into the
passenger cabin from the heater core and my temp gauge never gets up to the 1/4
mark. I've changed the thermostat, which made things worse because now there is no
heat where as before there was a tiny bit of heat, just not enough which is why I
changed the stat. The car doesn't overheat and I have heard the cooling fans come on
when the rad is hot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your cooling system is completely full and if it is extremely low make sure there is no air in the system after you fill it. Might be time to have it professionally flushed and refilled.
