can i put a good fuel pump out of my 2002 grand am gt into my 2011 tank replacing the old one? similarities?

old pump is burnt up in the malibu and i cant afford not to miss getting my kids

The days of mixing and matching parts from cars of different models from different years are long gone. Buy the right pump for your make model and year, and yes, especially with something as labor intensive as a fuel pump, buy a new one, and a new filter as well so you don't void its warranty.
