Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I believe my lateral arms are bent, or is it the
control arms, are they the same? Or are they 2
different things. Its not my trailing arms. The two
bars that are bent go left to right, and right to left.
And another question is are both sides the same?
Im trying to order online and idk exactly what its
called, i thought it was my lateral arms but not
sure. Its on a 2002 grand prix gt 2 door

Well, there is a trailing arm, a lateral arm, and a control arm call out on the sight I am looking at. Check it out, scroll down to see the others..... https://www.carid.com/2002-pontiac-grand-prix-suspension-parts/moog-r-series-control-arm-21699763.html

Looks like its my control arm then, my friend said people refure to them as lateral arms too. So what is the difference between my lateral arm and comtrol arm

Not sure there is any difference, but I do know you have to make sure your getting the correct one. I know depending on what you need, there is a control arm, lateral arm that is adjustable. There is a forward lateral link and a rearward lateral link. Just read the descriptions closely. The adjustable links are for doing a rear end alignment.

I can save you a lot of time here. Unless you've been in some sort of crash, which you would probably remember, there is nothing likely to be bent down there. Why do you think they are bent? If in doubt figure it out first. If there are front end problems with your car and you can't find what it is, take it to an alignment shop and let them take a look.
