2001 Pontiac Grand Prix studders and shuts off

Ok my  Pontiac started to sputter and jerk almost
like it has no gas. When I press the pedal several
times  varroom it shoots  off runs like a dream for
about 10 seconds then again sputters and will shut
down until it get cooled a little .

Start by scanning it for trouble codes and checking the fuel pressure.
