Bad ground wire in 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix???

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tried to start car one night and just got a clicking noise, but had power to lights, radio, A/C, etc. Tow truck guys got it started after connecting the negative jumper cable to a different ground, instead of the negative post on the battery. Had my mechanic check it out (told them I was told to ask them to check for a bad ground wire) and they found nothing wrong, after doing an electrical system analysis. Today, my car wouldn't start again. I hooked the cables up the same way the tow truck guys did, and it started with no problem. Any ideas what could be wrong???

Did your electrical system analysis include a load test of your battery?
