my 2000 Grand Prix GT goes through alot of gas in the winter why?

Asked by nancyv Mar 05, 2014 at 04:15 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It just seems i go through a lot of gas this winter and I don't know why and I really only drive to the store and once to school each trip is only less than 10 miles.  Apparently it has been using gas.  I m thinking about a gallon or two from the dash reader that tells you how many gallons used.  Any ideas?

1) Maybe its a Gas sensor level is broking? If you drive the car on 2 Gallons means empty tank. Feel Pump going bad and you can see different level. 2) Maybe time for Catalytic converter or Oxygen Sensors.
