can changing the original gas cap to a stant gas cap make the shut off wihile driving

the car will shut off on me when i am driving , then i wait a few minutes and then start it again and it runs. could that be becasue the gas cap is causing  a vacuum and the engine can nit get any fuel to it?

The tank should be pressurised and if there is any issue with it being pressurised it will set a check engine light for evap leaks. At the very worst it will run rough but it shouldn't kill it.
