coolant light and constant refil

Asked by Mar 01, 2017 at 12:05 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 1999 pontiac grand prix 3800 will not
hold coolant very long. I refil almost every
week. it seems like its coming from the
passenger side of the motor and hits
serpentine belt. no white smoke so I don't
think head gasket. also my temperature gets
up to 210 fast and stays there. doesn't go
over just stays right at 210. low coolant light
is always on too

Might be a leaky water pump and or gasket. Also any one of the hoses.

Bad water pump
