remove water pump in 1997 gtp

Lower belt idle pulley is in the way.

I would go to You-Tube and watch a video on this, if this is the one I'm thinking of, changing the water pump on this is quite involved. You would want to change the timing belt and pulleys and tensioners at the same time, which is recommended to do so.

Ok, not the one I was thinking of, so just remove the bolt from the center of the idler pulley to remove.

YES YOU HAVE TO MOVE PULLY. Even thought you can get it to screw all the way out it still hits the pully on the FRONT OF THE CAR. Not the same as the power steering pump removal for the access to the water pump bolt on the BACK side or firewall/passenger side.. AND its a special type bolt, not a socket
