I have a 2002 grand am that is totally dead. Nothing comes on. When trying to get a jump from a friend there was no response. My battery is 13 months old.....Why is it totally dead?

There was nothing left on....no lights or overhead light or anything to drain the battery.

The bad battery may just be bad,even trying to jump a bad battery sometime,s doe,s not work,,go have that battery load tested.

Try unhooking both battery terminals. Hook up the jumper cables to the terminals. Then try starting the car. If it doesn't work then your battery cables might be corroded, broke or shorting out. If it starts then its the battery

On then get jump but car dies anther jump car dies so I get it towed battery is dead bring down bad battery so I replace it come home and install start car no problem then the battery light comes ...

it sounds like it is making a grinding noise but not the whole time the car is running.

I have a 99 pontiac grand am se 3.4L V6. The issue is that it starts and idles fine but as soon as I go to accelerate it just shuts off. It did have overheating issues but right after I fixed those it started doing this. I replaced the cam position sensor and also the engine coolant temp sensor and it didnt help. I was thinking of replacing the ignition coil packs and housi g but not sure if that would fix it. There are no check engine lights or stored codes . 4 Answers
