Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A couple of times today when I was at a
stop light my car cut off and I would have
to put the car in park and start the car up
again. What could be the issue?

Anything and everything... The car can have issues staying due to most anything in the car failing. Try checking the crankshaft position sensor, air flow, fuel pump, battery, alternator, etc. Is your car throwing a check engine light? If so, try using and OBD2 sensor. The OBD2 sensor can check your engine fault codes and tell you what the exact issue is with your vehicle.

The check engine light just came on. So I'll take the car to auto zone to have them run a diagnostic test.

    I have a 2001 grand am when you drive at 55 to 60 mph for 15 min it will shut off. There is hesitation or anything. If i drive around town the car runs great under 45 mph.
