What would cause the Trac Off light to come on?

The Trac Off light comes on after a few minutes of driving and the
transmission bangs into gear when going from drive to park to reverse.
Any ideas why would be greatly appreciated.

Trans fluid is a separate problem from the Trac Light. The light issue is probably a wheel sensor that needs replacement so your ABS and Traction control work properly.
