I have a Pontiac Grand Am 2000, my fuel gauge was working just fine until I changed the fuel pump. It indicates that it has a full tank. What should I do.

I changed my fuel pump due to the fact that it wasn't starting, but before that the fuel
gauge was working just fine. Now it indicates that the tank is full what should I do.

Possibly the harness or connector got messed when the pump was changed. The same harness feeds the pump and gauge. Or, you are the latest victim of 'corrosive fuel' according to TSB GM. http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22264 Changing out the sending unit is easy, but check the harness first.

I have a 99 pontiac grand am se 3.4L V6. The issue is that it starts and idles fine but as soon as I go to accelerate it just shuts off. It did have overheating issues but right after I fixed those it started doing this. I replaced the cam position sensor and also the engine coolant temp sensor and it didnt help. I was thinking of replacing the ignition coil packs and housi g but not sure if that would fix it. There are no check engine lights or stored codes . 4 Answers
