Do you really expect an answer to that question? It all depends on the quality of the parts, the maintenance performed, how hard the car is driven and dumb luck. I expect mine to make it to 200,000 miles.

if it is an SE = 2.4L = JUNK hopefully you have an SE with the upgraded 3.4L V6 then it will last you a long time with proper maintenance if you are unfortunate and have a 2.4L 4 cyl.... SELL IT !!!

I had the 2000 Grand Am SE, I sold it with 403,000 miles (original motor 2.4l and transmission) for 1000.00 cash and the girl I sold it to still drives it to this day. I now have the 2001 Grand Am with the 3.4l and it has 140,000 miles (im looking for 400,000 out of it to) Grand ams are indestructable My first one (2.4l) I ran into flood water up to windshield, car died of course. I took it home pulled spark plugs turned motor over shot the water out as much as possible. cleaned plugs put back in ran crappy for about 10 miles then smoothed right out, Soon after i was driving on wet roads and lost control hit concrete barrier wall smacked the back bumper into the backseat I drove the car away... They are excellent cars but keep up the maintenance..

I currently own a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT & bought it used on 2003. I now have 297,301 miles on it & still running great! I do my own oil changes when they are due. Only accident was hitting a deer back in Jan 2012, but kept it, fixed it up & still running. Original engine & trans in it.

My 1998 Grand AM SE 4 cylinder has 180,000, and is going strong. A great return on my initial $2,100 investment. It definitely needs a few parts here and there through the years, but I find that's typical and always is like annually $300-400. The 2.4L SE, is not the fastest thing on the road, but I love my car, find it fiercely reliable and hope to get it well over 200,000 miles into it. I've had the car for over eight years too.

Update: My 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT Coupe turned 300,000 miles on Sept. 11, 2017 & now today has over 305,000. I called Pontiac/GM to let them know I turned 300,000 miles & now it's in their records. Still original engine & transmission. I found the receipt from when I bought it Dec. 2003. It had 29,720 miles on it. Still purrs like a kitten. I use high mileage oil & filter on it when I change the oil.

I have a 2005 3.4 V6 Grand Am SE (converting it to a GT...have a cold air intake in already and front and back GT bumpers. Going to bump 2" exhaust up to 2.25" & put disc brakes on back). I just flipped 270,000 miles & she still runs & handles great. Leaks/burns zero oil (use Moble 1 full synthetic...every time! No, the other brands of full synthetic are NOT exactly the same, Mr. Oil Change Jockey). May have to replace the trans here soon, but I have had no other major problems...besides a very slow rack & pinion leak. Love, love, love my car. Have lapped my wife twice already & I told her I will STILL be driving the Grand Am when her 2013 Fiat either dies or gets sold. I am 52, and this may be the last car I ever need to own.

Ok.. I'm a girl for one. I've got a 2001 pontiac grand am Coupe GT.. 2 door coupe RAM AIR which is rare as it's considered the Pink edition Emblem on pontiac is pink not red.. So far at 246,000 the motor blowed. I found used one on ebay at 76,000 out of an oldsmobile and replaced it. I'm going to see how high actually the digital mileage can get but it's a project car for me. The problems you have with these pontiacs are the hydraulic power steering pumps. It's gone through 3. It is a 3.4 L V6 Ram.. I bought it off my family member that really let it go. I replaced about everything on the thing. But it always needs some TLC. So far mileage is smooth at 259,567 but like I said earlier I put another engine in it. Never leaked oil nothing.. when u see your oil light on stop immediately!!!! Its gonna blow!! As soon as light came on it knocked bout at same time It didnt even give me time to check it.. even though oil was changed and checked 2 days before with no leaks it will push it out somewhere.. trust me!! These cars will not give you a warning!! It will all happen at once!! So I suggest to check your oil weekly after 215,000 miles on your engine & check for leaks!!! Mine had no leaks but replaced it by putting another engine in about 1,100.00 not bad but we got a shop. The engine with shipping was about 500 the rest was on the engine gaskets, etc.. I'm going to see how high this baby can go! I replaced shocks, struts, tierods, wheel bearings, brakes, pads, calipers but it's gone through 4 power steering pumps.. I think some were bad already but pressing that pulley on can be a bitch but you got to have it even!! Do not assume or your chirping humming begins lol if anyone on here has any coupe interior parts let me know. I'm working on the inside now. It never was took cared of til now when I got it in 2013.. I do not like the body styles of the G6 etc... this is the only model which if you have a pink decal.. consider that a special Pink Car! Rare!! Take car of it. I've been reading your messages about your cars for years and figured I'd post about mine. Enclosed is a pic. You guys helped me alot on here. Thank you guys!! I'll update my mileage as I go along.. if it blows again I'll throw in another engine and see how far this mileage odometer reads and keep u updated. I was curious how far it goes b4 resetting bk to 0..lol
