Front brakes lock up after they become warm and start to smoke.

Asked by BRZ_1474 Jan 21, 2017 at 11:16 AM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am 4 Dr SE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced all brake pads, hoses, calipers, master cylinder and paid
$1700 for the work, and my brakes lock up after I go one mile and start to
smoke. It happens when the brakes become warm.  My car is currently in the
shop for 3 days again and they can't figure out the problem.  What is wrong
and how can it be fixed.  Please......I need this to be
repaired as I need my car repaired and given back to me!!

If you paid a business to do this repair there should be some warranty on the work, and for that price everything should have been replaced. If they think they need to keep much longer than usual, ask them about a loaner car.
