how to diagnose a no brake problem

back out of garage pedal went to floor no sign of brake fluid on floor, could not see any fluid in reservoir filled pumped pedal still no leeks on floor an still no brakes, pedal hard with engine off ,pedal still goes to floor,pedal very soft with engine at idle still no brakes an still no fluid on floor

If you could not see any brake fluid in the reservoir, then it went somewhere and there is a leak. Perhaps check to see if it leaked out of the master cylinder into the brake booster?

Bob is correct. You have a leak. The hard pedal with the engine off is normal because there's no vacuum assist with the engine off. HTH. -Jim
