placed ignition lock cylinder on my 1996 pontiac grand am 2.4 ltr se when attempting to relearn process per instructions theft light stays lit will not go out fires but dies

antitheft mode was activated drove car turned off no start theft light stays on
does not blink and never goes out replaced ignition lock cylinder same problem
attempted relearn per instructions no change please anyone cant afford dealer

What was the relearn process?


The light has never flashed?

no stays solid until you try to crank when car dies theft light will blink 7 times then stays solid will not go out
