Asked by mandahC Jun 23, 2014 at 09:52 PM about the 1995 Pontiac Grand Am 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: General

Car was running  today shut off after 4 or 5 minutes took it for a ride came back  and car  
starts but immediately shuts off! and now its making a ding sound under the hood after it
shuts off ! Never had  a  security lock radio! Fuel pump is working! Alternator is fine,
Please help im at my wits end!

Check fuel pressure,sounds like a bad fuel pump,and yes you may here it bzzzzz for a second,but it may be stopped up bad filter or pump it self,check fuel pressure at fuel rail,should be 34 psi.

Also pop a plug lose turn over motor,is they a spark?Let me know : )
