Programming keyless entry transmitter

When I ground the keyless programming connector in the trunk, the power
door locks will not lock or unlock. I have tried this procedure several times
with no success. I took a voltage at the connector which reads 8 volts. The
power door locks work fine manually. Is it possible that the keyless entry
receiver is faulty?

However it is indeed very possible that the receiver module has failed and that a new receiver or body module could be needed.
