Car won't crank

It acts like it wantt to crank but won't got it
boosted stayed on for awhile then went out.do any
one know what could be causing this

From what your saying is that. When you got a jump it started an then the motor shut down. Sounds like your battery is dead. And possible could be your alternator! Good luck.
