top wont go down

Asked by dan Jun 01, 2015 at 03:07 PM about the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Spyder

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

replaced battery and power window motor(passenger side) and now my top starts to work
,gets about six inches and seems to get stuck and wont go any further.tried to use the
manual open but seems like i will break it if i put any more force on it,passenger side
seems siezed.

Also check for items/obstructions in the top storage area behind the back seat.

1)Truck might be open,if it's open the top will not go down. 2) IF you moved the seat while the top was going up or down. It made the top go in freeze mode. Put seat back to original position. It has a sensor some where between the back of the seat and end of the door. 3)Top can also be but down manually between the truck area and back seat. The little flap that goes up. GOOD LUCK. ;)

My top went down fine drove it 20 miles or so went back up ok now it won’t do anything but beep at me 3 times and won’t do nothing win I go to drive it it starts beeping at me don’t know what is going on
