2004 merc grand marquis everything is normal with this car it has 410,964 miles on the old girl today I got in it and no starter on the key all the lights work in the dash battery is good no starter

Tapping on starter works nine out of ten times most likely starter still is bad. Have starter checked after removing from vehicle.

Besides the starter, could it be the ignition switch, or starter relay if there is one? Both of those would do it.
