how to replace the fuel pump

2001 mercury grand marquis I drove the car to a friends and parked it the next day I tried to start it and it just turned over did not hear the fuel pump at all I changed the relay it still did not work.

Before you do that check the black box with red button by left rear hinge inside trunk that little black box with the red button is the fuel pump relay reset I would try that first!!!!

You do not have to drop the fuel tank with the tank that sits up on it edge.a little tricky to get to the wire plug,otherwise easy.
don't unclip wire plugs pull out unit& just replace pump saves$$ & time probably get a new gasket tho
