why does my coolant temperature guage on 2000 grand marquis LS (digital) flash and alarm go off, even after I REPLACED SENSOR?

Guage(digital) started flashing and alarm beeps even with new sensor

Are you positive that it's not overheating? Have you recently done work on cooling system that you had to drain the coolant out? If so did you properly belch/burp the cooling system after you added the coolant back in?

If air in cooling system the alarms will continue to keep sounding off.
