Fuse

Asked by olderndirt Nov 12, 2016 at 09:38 PM about the 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 Dr LS Sedan

Question type: General

What is a suitable replacement for the 18 amp CB fuse in the under dash fuse box.  The original part # F5VB-14526-AA (metal canister) but haven't located one yet.

The part you are describing is a circuit breaker not a fuse. A fuse is a one time use item where a circuit breaker will actually reset itself. Also the part number you gave is an engineering number and not a part number. Ford and Mercury engineering and part numbers are very similar, but they are not the same. A Ford dealer's parts department can identify the part for you.
