Need help

I have a 97 Mercury Grand Marquis it has
been setting for a couple months when we
tried to start it would turn over but not start
and a popping sound like popcorn was
coming from under hood so we got another
fuse box  now won't start

did it run when it was parked ? it didn't start and after new fuse box it still doesn't start ? does it turn over ? (crank) do you have spark and/or fuel ?

Sorry I'm horrible with cars it was running before it was parked after that it would just turn over. After putting in new fuse box it won't even turn over now and have spark and fuel
