Engine Misfiring and Need It Fixed ASAP

Asked by Orion Jan 16, 2020 at 09:32 PM about the 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 Dr GS Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis and I
am having issues with it. Before 35 mph I
have to press gas more than half way to get it
to go well with a single stutter and then
smooth acceleration. Then after 35 I can just
lay off and use a light or so press to keep it
going. I have rough idling in 1st gear and I
have already replaced all spark plugs with
iridium Autolite plugs and I replaced one out
of two ignition coil packs with an OEM
motorcraft part and still have rough idling and
it’s actually gotten a little worse after replacing
these.
