Is this a wiring short or something more involved.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When you start the car and drive off all doors lock.  After a few seconds they all unlock all by themselves.  If you relock them again after a few seconds they will unlock by themselves.  We parked the car at a restaurant, locked the doors, went inside and when we came back out the doors had unlocked themselves.  HELP

No but what would be the difference between manually locking them and using the key fob. They automatically unlock themselves over and over again while driving or parked and the lights turn on and off by themselves also. We unhooked the battery to see if that may reset something but won't know the answer to that until tomorrow. Thanks

Might be an issue with the fob. Try removing battery from fob to see if problem continues without it being powered up.

Locking the doors manually could isolate the remote portion. It might provide a clue to the source of the problem. It might also be a way to lock the doors when going into restaurants.

We disconnected the battery over night which must have reset something and now it is not doing it anymore. The fobs were fine only gets weaker when you need to change the battery. The dealership thought it might have been something to do with the alarm system but since we disconnected the battery it is all good

2007 town car. same issue. Locks and light come and go at will. Disconnecting battery no help. Bummed in seattle
