air suspension bags in the rear of my lincoln towncar

The oil changing guy said he can not get my car up on the rack because the rear air suspension bags switch is turned off, he said , if I turn it on you might get the pump burned out or something expensive  happen. What can I do? where should I take it to get fixed and how much should it cost??

On/Off switch for compressor located in trunk, is for when car is towed or anytime rear end losses contact with ground, to keep from over inflating air ride suspension. If the switch is off the car can be hoisted. The switch is on for normal operations.

My Lincoln is airing upand down more often is it going out or can freezing temperatures going into 54 degrees make it actuate more often
