2001 lincoln town car signature series
I have a lincoln town car signature series
2001 I pulled a ecm out of a 2001 lincoln
town car signature series but the numbers
don't match on the ecm' s can I still use it.
What's the difference. They both had same
motor same year. Same series..
You can try it, but with the emission calibration codes being different they are programmed slightly different. It is best to use one with the same number.
Thanks Bob now what number am I really looking for on it to match there's more then one
Is the processor show in the picture the one out of your car? The engineering number is the 1W1F-12A650-AE this is similar to the part number, but they are not quite the same. Also did you know that if you switch processors your keys will no longer start the car? Why is the processor being replaced?
The "KME4" is the emissions calibration code.
Look on the driver's side "A" pillar with the door open and see if you see a white sticker with 4 letters on it. That code needs to match the calibration code on the processor. You can always talk to your local Ford dealer's parts department to see if they can get the proper part number from your VIN number. This would help you locate one. They are not available from Ford anymore. Also E-bay has the same processor in the photo for $99.00. I will post a link below.
