About the only thing that can cause white smoke on this model is a blown headgasket or a cracked cylinder head, there is no modulator valve that hooked too the engine, so that rules out transmission fluid. Watch for oil in the coolant or coolant in the engine oil and if it starts using coolant or has a slight miss when you first start it up with white smoke out the tailpipe. If you see, or feel any of those then it time for a block check, if your a DIYer you can purchase the kit at your local parts store, if not a shop can do it.

it was a water pump leak that was running down the front of the engine that caused the white smoke.

Then it wasn't smoke it was steam and should have been followed by a sickly sweet smell of coolant in the engine compartment. Good thing you found it quickly, or it could have gotten way more expensive.

it was that's why the water was dripping from my tailpipe it was sweet water thanks though for the advice I found the problem after changing out the lower radiator hose.

I would still watch the coolant levels for a while just to be on the safe side.

the car has never over heated but I keep an eye for all the signs thanks
