My 2000 Linclon Town Car is leaking oil and smoking-- car has 107,500 miles.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently replaced the original plastic intake and valve cover gaskets. My mechanic thinks it could be the front crank shaft seal now. There's also oil in the coolant. I hate to throw money at a lost cause. The air suspension is on its way out, but that's another story. I can't afford a different car right now. Suggestions? Thanks--

It's the years not the mileage.....It took me a while to realize this but time is way more important than mileage......I had an older Honda Accord for almost 20 years because it was a GREAT CAR, but, all the really expensive repairs and there weren't that many, the last five years were the most expensive. Unless it's a collectible car, there's NO REASON to keep old cars. And, old cars are definitely NOT as safe as newer models. Sometimes it's better to say goodbye.
