99 Lincoln Town car

I got a new alternator how to tested says it's fine
new battery battery light still on and it's not
charging starts drains battery down

The alternator wire is FUSED. Check for power from battery at the back of alternator. This is the most likely issue Rule 1 of charging systems NEVER CHANGE AN ALTERNATOR WITHOUT CHECKING THE CABLES FIRST
