1994 Lincoln Town car. The a/c stopped working after smoke came from the A/C controller inside the vehicle. Now nothing comes on. Car still runs fine. Do I need to replace the entire unit inside?

Hard to say. Often the Blower Motor itself draws too much current and burns out the switch, controller and connector. Manual or Automatic Climate Control? I've seen the Manual controls burn up the switch, motor, resistor block and related connectors because of the motor drawing too many amps.

I think you are correct. I will replace the switch unit. The buttons where worn anyway. Thanks
