Transmission problems are best left to the experts, but be sure to ask around for a good one. Some tranny shops will rip u off with a high price and a lousy job as well. If u are anywhere near Wilmington, NC., U must go to Econo Transmission, fair price, quality work. I have been a Limo/Taxi driver here for over twenty-five years so i have heard lots of horror stories about other shops, especially the chain/big name.shops. Find out in your town which shop fixes the cop cars and taxis, usually a good indication of good work. there is one fix u can try yourself, easy to do. Pull Down your tranny pan, drain it, change filter inside, replace gasket, clean pan thoroughly on the inside., including round magnet ' add the correct amount of recommended trans fluid. U must get a repair book for your. car.the book will pay for itself and u will have fun fixing your own car !! Good luck.

I want to add that a 94 Town Car is a sweet ride, one of the best. All i own are Town Cars now. if you progress up with newer ones, skip the 95-97 years,98-2002 are nice and much like a sporty luxury ride, very tight handling... 2003-2011 Town Cars got a bit larger, updated electronics, but had odd cheap interior door design, but get 28mpg at 45-55 mph!
