how come my scanner tool can not link to my car computer for the ABS , i tried checking the switch on, connector ok still not linking?

I got abs light on and want to know where is the problem, though my scanner tool can not
link to the car computer system. scanner tool have an ABS feature.

Had the same problem with my new code reader after calling tech support they had me check the fuse to my cigarette lighter he said most check engine light are connected to this. Checked fuse it was blown replaced and scanner started working.
