Yes, spraying starting fluid down the throttle body, the motor should have run until it all burnt off or just stayed running. Does sound like a timing issue. Was it messed with for any reason? Timing belt gone bad?

No it ran fine a couple days before but we had the bad storms and all of the sudden it didnt want to start i kept thinking it was the starter but when i took battery in they said the machine read charge required so i just bought a new one the fuel pump might have been ok but from all the reasing it was my first guess

The belts could be bad some of the hoses pretty worn i bought it used with 250000 miles (fingers crossed)

This sounds like a timing or ignition issue. I am leaning toward a timing issue. back firing indicates a timing issue. That many miles on it, if the timing belt hadn't ben changed in the last 80,000 miles, engine timing may have jumped. It is hard to say here. Should have someone look at it.
