Why my 2005 Jeep Grande Cherokee stalls while driving only in the summer?

Asked by Janet Mar 08, 2017 at 08:42 PM about the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was running good the check
engine light was on I had it checked and it was saying I needed the core
packs changed I did that along with the spark plugs. The jeep shuts off
while I'm driving only when the temperature outside is high in the winter it's
fine no problem the gauges  doesn't show that it's overheating though. My
air stopped working but someone put a wire to the compressor and it blew
cold I'm not sure what's that about but I told them not to leave it on there so
it would mess anything else up. Any suggestions?

You may have to clean your idle air control (IAC) valve and possibly the throttle position sensor (TPS). It is possible that either the IAC is dirty and gets locked in the idle position, or the TPS is dirty and does not send the exact throttle position information to the computer.
