Trans clunking when shifting from park to reverse,

when parked shifting from park to reverse there is a clunk going on,put it in drive and vehicle drives nice and smooth

May be a bad trany mount, or a bad u-joint. Just needs to be checked.

If the vehicle was in storage with the battery disconnected, newer models have an adaptive transmission learning strategy. It could act up for the first little bit until the trans relearns
