Jeep Fan / Overheating problems

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, still seems to be overheating.  It's
fine in normal constant driving, but when stopped for a prolonged period of
time the temperature gauge begins to rise.  I have replaced both relays in
the fuse box, as well as the Temperature sensor.  The fan does work, as I
turned it on with giving it a charge.  The 2004 does not have the relay under
the front passenger head light...Cut the hole to find out it doesn't have
one...DOH!  Any help would be appreciated :)

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be worn gears within the fan motor. The fan would turn when I was driving along the hi- way but I'd overheat at slow speeds. it made me crazy. So, using a THIN stick, see If you can stop/prevent the fan from spinning. If you can, you will know it's in the fan motor. It's a cheap fix. Hope this will be a help to you.
