2002 Jeep Cherokee clicking noise under hood

I have a 2002 Jeep Cherokee that is intermittently
making a clicking noise somewhere under the hood.
Noise speeds up when stepping on the gas. It
doesn't make the noise everytime I'm driving it
though. Only about 50% of the time. The noise
completely stops when I turn off the car and restart.
Any idea what this could be?

I was going to say lifter/lash adjuster not sure what they run but tensioner sounds more feisable in this situation
