Asked by GuruDRJ8Q Sep 16, 2017 at 02:38 PM about the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My driver's side window was left open during a heavy windy rainstorm.  After i
dried out the car with rags and fans, my car stay running after starting.  I have
tried unhooking the battery, unplugging various fuses, unlocked and locked
doors.  Put a scanner on it and got no problem codes.

Possibly a relay switch got wet internally and or the water traveled down the steering column and the actual ignition switch has water in it completing the run circuit causing it to not shut off. Just a guess since you say it got wet inside during a storm.
