If you find a computer from a vehicle that is the same as yours, engine etc, and the numbers match on the sticker on the computer, then you could use it. Otherwise a computer from the same vehicle but different numbers on the computer would have to be flashed at a Dealership.

VIN must be programed ... Basic Info, If you change the keys, instrument cluster, PCM / Computer or immobilizer module, or skim antenna you will have to reprogram everything. The gauge cluster, PCM, and skim module must ALL AGREE and have all the same VIN programmed into them. The DBRIII is the scanner to use.

I have 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a missmatch error, the history is it has had PCMs replaced a number of times as well as WCM, immobilizer and keys before l had purchased it, and l have had to replace all devices and now the cluster does not match. This screws every thing up, the car runs but no central locking, security light flashes and air bag light stays on and a number of other things. I have found a bit software Appcar that has helped me find the VIN number of the cluster and found the mismatch, but have not been able what Bins that are in the WCM and other modules l hope this may help others as any info l can get would be appreciated. Many thanks
