My Jeep is having RPM issues, struggling to stay at desired speed.
2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 2WD. At about 45+, especially at 70mph, I notice that the RPMs drop once I'm trying to cruise at desired speed. I have to let off pedal and re apply for more acceleration otherwise it just accelerates slowly at the same RPM (about 2000-2500). The Jeep is overheating once this occurs from what I feel is the struggling/pushing to go faster at a lower RPM. Also sounds like it's engine breaking once I release the accelerator, slows faster than I feel it should. I was leaning towards transmission or maybe fuel injection or throttle cable. Put new TPS, new trans filter, new plugs. Anyone have an idea?
