Radiator fan relay

Asked by Bmann1987 Mar 18, 2019 at 11:49 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My radiator fan kept running after I turned my
2000 grand Jeep Cherokee leraddo off and it
killed my battery. I replaced the relay with a
new one but now the check engine light is on
with code p1491. I put the old relay back in
and the fan would run again while the ignition
was off. Is the brand new relay faulty? Am I
better to just drive it with the old relay with
the fan running and pull the fuse everytime I
stop?

I have exactly the same problem....but it is random....sometimes the fan stays on...other times it turns off when the key is off..where is the temp sensor that activates this circuit??
