Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1998 jeep grand cheeroke lareado.
The rear door latch will via the key sounds
like its locking and unlocking inside but will
not enguage the latch post...the door will not
latch and stay shut.  How do i get the door
latch to release the hasp...its like it wont
release and catch the latch post mounted on
the car.  The rear door will not shut or even
catch at all.  How do i get the latching
mechanism to release the hasp that grabs the
post?

put some grease in there as soon as u get it to release some times the handle post releases from handle simple remove hatch panel on inside and tinker with some levers but use a screw driver in that center hole nd pull handle it should release
