how do i know if i have a limited slip differential with my jeep grand cherokee laredo 5.2 L v8?

It's simple. Jack up both left & right tires off the ground. Once the tires are free, spin either tire. If both tires rotate in the same direction, then you are posi., if one tire turns the opposite direction, you don't.

I did this the other day due to a whine I heard in the backend when I turn and drive slowly. If I remember correctly all tires spun the same way, would I then need to add a friction modifier if its limited slip diff?
