I have a 99 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 turbo. Just
changed the catalytic converter the ecu o2
sensor spark plugs and it still shuts off and
idle rough... Just had it diagnosed and they
say my main engine harness is bad, could
that be the reason why it shuts off or I
should have them check the cat if it's still
plugged

Hi yes wiring can cause a major issue with any car. But you should have a check engine light on and their should be codes that will help find a solution to the problem. Also when driving when the car shuts off if you look underneath at the exhuast and its is glowing red hot it can possibly be the catalitic converter again or your fuel injectors are dumping fuel causing it to burn a lot more fuel as well. It is difficult to diagnose without the vehicle
