first of all you should have got your answer from the person who did the diagnostic, however you dont give full detail about your car. e.g year model and millage. its important to check it from that point too. but it seem to me the body Throttle is a problem. and i m thinking it could be a dirty Throttle if thats the case, it must be cleaned by a qualifies Auto electrician. or the Body Throttle will need to be replaced. one must remember the body Throttle serve the same function of the old Carberator, if you know the function of that, the your question is answered. Good luck

Hard to tell by your description. Did they say bad Throttle Position Sensor or replace your entire Throttle Body? Ebay has several for sale right now. From $35-$150. I think the TPS will be attached to the new throttle body when you buy it.

Arrie, checked out some Youtube videos. A guy was having the same issue as you. This is the answer someone gave him: The symptoms are consistent with bad 02 sensors, and the low boost is limp mode due to the check engine light. If your gas mileage is horrible, the car smells like un-burned fuel it's most certainly 02 sensors as the limp mode is throwing it into full rich. You will need to get it scanned to read the codes to see if its 02 sensors. Other thought would be the MAF sensor is bad, but once again you need to scan the car in order to determine the codes. The MAF issues tend to have the car struggle as you throttle up, then it will rev high as it can't read air flow. 02 and MAF are easy to replace but they are expensive electronic parts. You can find them much cheaper online. The video poster replied back and stated that the issue was in fact bad 02 sensors. The video poster had a turbo but that shouldn't make a difference. Hope this helps!

Hi there Guru - Had same problem with 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 , the problem is the timing is out and you have some bend valves already . I say already because if Audi timing is slightly out it will damage the valves and thats the frustrating reality , you have to remove the head or heads if its a v6 and have them fixed .

My audi a4 (b5) 1.8, 1999 model, idles at 500 rpm. When I touch petrol, it goes up to 3000 rpm and then dies. It has no power whatsoever. It can only drive at 10km/h on straight road and 5km/h up hill. We replaced the thermostat as it got very hot, but did not indicate any higher temperature on heat gage. This did not help at all. We have also checked the O2 sensor, which was replaced approx. 2 years ago. It blows out black stuff at the exhaust, but when it dries out it looks like black carbon dust. What can be the problem. Please let me know if you have any possible help. We urgently need advice as we cannot find the problem.
