How do I get the dip stick out when the top handle has broken off?

I went to check the oil in my 96 Jeep Grand Charokee, 5.2, pulled on the dipstick and the pull handle broke off.

I have a question I have a 94 jeep grand cherokee limited with the 5.2 L in it and I took the oil stick out to check it and when i went to put it back in it went half way and then stopped like it was hitting something and wouldn't go any further
